Everything you need to know about ECBC electric combi boilers — from warranty registration and installation accessories, to servicing schedules, repair callouts and what to do if your sacrificial anode needs replacing.
An electric combi boiler heats your home’s central heating and provides on-demand hot water using electricity instead of gas. There’s no flue, no gas connection, no combustion and no annual gas safety inspection required.
Compared to gas, electric combi boilers have fewer moving parts, no emissions, and can be installed almost anywhere — even where gas flues or external tanks aren’t possible. They’re ideal for off-grid properties, flats, new builds, and homes moving away from fossil fuels.
It depends on your property size, hot water needs, and electrical supply:
Book a free Home Survey and our engineers will assess your layout and electrical supply to recommend the right model.
ELEKTRA boilers are designed in the UK and made in Italy, manufactured by Fiamma Giro S.R.L. ECBC has been the exclusive UK partner since 2013, sponsoring and developing the UK’s first true electric combi boiler.
No — most UK homes can run our single-phase models (ELEKTRA SMART EASY, SMART.BPC, GUIVAL SMALL). Three-phase is only required for the larger SMART.N system boiler in bigger properties.
Our engineers will check your consumer unit and supply during the Home Survey before recommending anything.
Yes — ELEKTRA boilers carry full SAP, IEC/IMQ/IECEE-CB, Declaration of Conformity, and Harmonics & Flicker testing certificates. You can download all certifications from our Certifications page.
Yes — we have working demo units at our Windsor HQ (Green Acres, Oakley Green Road, SL4 4QF). Call or email to arrange a visit. We can also share case-study photos and customer references on request.
Yes — every installation starts with a Home Survey carried out by an in-house ECBC engineer, not a sales rep. We’ll assess your electrical supply, water pressure, current heating layout, and clearance space before recommending the correct boiler and quoting.
A straightforward swap (gas-to-electric or like-for-like replacement) typically takes 1 working day. A full system installation including new pipework, accessories and electrical upgrades usually takes 2-3 days. Your engineer will give a firm timeline at the survey stage.
Either our in-house team (within 200 miles of Windsor) or an ECBC Authorised Installer from our directory. All authorised installers are Gas Safe and NICEIC-certified, trained at our Windsor HQ, and listed on our official ELEKTRA Authorised Installer Database.

To keep your warranty valid, your installer must fit:
We offer a Warranty Bundle that includes all required accessories — add it at checkout for peace of mind.
Yes — electric combi boilers are ideal for flats because they have no flue, no gas connection, and a compact wall-mounted footprint. The GUIVAL SMALL range is specifically designed for shower-only and single-bathroom flats.
You will find your boiler serial number, model and kW on the data plate located on your boiler and on the warranty certificate supplied with it.
Elektra Silvertouch and Skytouch series boilers come with up to 10 years and Guival Small boilers up to 5 years, when purchased from January 2025 and registered within 30 days.
If you do not register within 30 days of purchase you may lose access to the extended warranty coverage. Please register as soon as possible to ensure full protection.
Your installation must comply with the Warranty Terms & Conditions, including the required accessories. Please refer to the warranty certificate for the full list.

A sacrificial anode protects the internal tank from corrosion. It is consumed over time and must be replaced every 3-5 years to keep your boiler protected and the warranty valid.
Standard callouts are typically scheduled within 3-5 working days. Emergency same-day or next-day slots are available Monday to Friday subject to engineer availability (+£50 surcharge).
Weekend emergency slots also available.
Yes — our engineers carry the most common ELEKTRA, SMART and GUIVAL spares. For uncommon parts we order from our Windsor stores or sister company Euroboilerparts.co.uk and rebook a follow-up visit at no extra callout charge.
If the same issue reoccurs within 30 days of the initial repair, we come back at no charge to resolve it. This only applies to the original fault — new or unrelated issues are subject to standard callout fees. Spare parts also carry a 12-month manufacturer warranty.
In most cases we either dispatch an authorised installer from our nationwide network (covering Scotland, Wales, North England, etc.) or authorise your preferred installer to do the repair, with ECBC covering parts and B2B labour rate.
Browse our Installer Directory to see coverage in your region.
Yes — for SMART models we can read fault codes online via your boiler ID. Our Support Team also handles step-by-step troubleshooting via phone, email and WhatsApp video before any callout is booked. Many issues are resolved in real time, saving you a callout fee.
Yes — our Boiler Care Plans bundle annual servicing, priority callouts and discounted parts into a single monthly or annual fee. Sign up for a Subscription Plan and you’ll get an automated reminder every time your boiler needs a service, with the booking handled for you.
The most common codes you might see include E01/F1 (low system pressure), E07/F22 (no hot water — often a diverter valve or heating element), and various lockout codes (overheating, sensor faults). Our Fault-Finding Guide contains the full code list, or just call our Support Team and we’ll talk you through it.
Callout fees are fixed by distance from our Windsor HQ:
Parts are charged separately at trade price + VAT. Emergency same-day callouts carry a +£50 surcharge, bank holidays +£100.
Yes — if the fault is covered under your boiler’s Manufacturer’s Warranty and you’ve registered the warranty within 30 days of purchase, the callout deposit is refunded via the original payment method. If the boiler wasn’t registered or the fault isn’t covered, the deposit is retained as the callout fee.
A callout deposit is required upfront to confirm the booking, taken via secure payment link. Any additional parts or labour are invoiced after the visit, payable by credit/debit card, BACS, or secure payment link — due within 24 hours of completion. Cheques are not accepted.
You can cancel a callout or service booking free of charge before 12 PM on the day before the booking. Cancellations after that point are subject to a cancellation fee, as the engineer’s day has already been planned and dispatched.
